although I travelled here for volleyball JO's (5th place!) it's been a wonderfully cultural week

jazz

Mississippi river cruises

walks around the French quarter

the creole cuisine

seafood

humid weather

macarons

street performers

voodoo

museums

the French market

cafés

big sur

Mazz and I just spent 5 days in the most beautiful place on earth: Big Sur. It was so so amazing and beautiful and perfect.

We drove up here with my family lugging a huge amount of stuff, and camped in an amazing campground overlooking the ocean. We watched the sun set every night and went hiking and exploring every day. 

Such a magical trip and place.

coffee shop regulars

as our school year as freshman came to an end, the need for a perfect study spot arose.  we ended up at our local coffee shop where the people are friendly, the birds chirp, and the studying happens.  hours on end were spent here, sipping on our hot chocolate, and for me, my chai lattes.

p.s. although we are not really coffee drinkers, grace did order coffee once and we have learned that already energetic and hyper people should not drink coffee ^-^

gloomy days

this was actually quite a while ago, but still worth posting now that it is finally summer (!!)  these cliffs are above blacks beach, and even on a cloudy day like this one, the view was spectacular.  we did attempt some yoga, and succeeded in achieving relaxation and contentment
